The practice of Massage Therapy is the assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissue and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or relieve pain (Massage Therapy Act, 1991). Massage Therapy should only be provided by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). An RMT is a primary healthcare provider in Ontario and must be registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Massage Therapists have a vast knowledge base of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and kinesiology. Your Massage Therapist will require an overall picture of your current health and detailed health history to design a treatment plan that's right for you. To book an appointment, click here.
